Maria La Selva is an educator and author. She is passionate and committed in developing the whole child. Maria is very grateful that she has had opportunities to educate and support children to promote positive mental health and wellbeing.
In Maria’s roles as an educator and Assistant Principal she has led many successful programs that have encouraged self-awareness, personal identity, and the development of empathy for others and building resilience in students.
Maria has been fortunate that in 35 years in Education she has worked in diverse socio-economic schools across Melbourne, Australia.
She has a National Award in; Quality Schooling in Teacher Excellence, nominated for Positive Teacher Australia wide and she has attended the Internationalising Education Program in China and the Literacy International Conference in America.
This inspired Maria to dedicate her teaching career to wellbeing, growth mindset and education.
Maria inspires children to find their voice through the magical world of literacy. She teaches students how to use mindfulness techniques when faced with challenges. Maria continues to make a positive difference and impact in children’s mindset and wellbeing.
